The annual State of the University address was Tuesday afternoon at Marshall University.
Marshall University President Stephen Kopp's speech was part of the fall general faculty meeting.
Kopp highlighted the previous year's successes and outlined his goals he has for the university for the upcoming school year and beyond.
Kopp also talked about the importance of thinking about the future of the university and not rest on past achievements.
"The great challenge that we always face is finding a renewed energy and the commitment to keep pushing ahead," said Kopp.
The event also included the introduction of 80 new faculty members.
