Last week, Marshall Head Coach Doc Holliday held a meeting with running back Travon Van about switching positions to corner back.

Van accepted which ultimately gave more carries to freshman tailbacks Kevin Grooms and Stewart Butler.

Both guys combined for 269 yards and five touchdowns vs. Rice last Saturday in the Herd's 54-51 win in double overtime.

The move paid off and Van's teammates took notice of selfless character.
