
Fall means homecoming for many high schools, colleges and universities. Thousands of alumni will return to West Virginia State University to celebrate October 1-6.
Activities begin on Monday.
President Brian Hemphill will deliver his first State of the University address at 10 a.m. Oct. 3 in Ferrell Hall Auditorium. The campus carnival is planned on the Student Plaza, Oct. 4.
The coronation of Mr. and Ms. State and the royal court will be Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. in Ferrell Hall. WVSU Homecoming Black and Gold Day is Friday, Oct. 5, and later that night a bonfire and pep rally will get under way at 10 p.m.
Homecoming Day is Oct. 6. A 5K run/walk starts the day at 7:30 a.m. To raise money for the Students Matter Most scholarship fund. The homecoming football game begins at 1:30 p.m., as the Yellow Jackets take on the West Liberty Hilltoppers.
