West Virginia's Attorney General is trying to make sure students and parents understand what they're getting into before big student loans bills show up.
Darrell McGraw's office launched a website on Wednesday called 'Know Before You Owe'. It's designed to provide college-bound students with information before they apply and take on student loans. The website steers students toward scholarship opportunities and away from loans that may be difficult to repay during tough economic times.
"It benefits the student by giving the student knowledge, being able to compare schools offering career courses, being able to ascertain how much it's going to cost or how much it should cost on an average to achieve that career direction," said McGraw.
