The Charleston Convention and Visitor's Bureau joined leaders from the city of Charleston on Wednesday to welcome visitors for a weekend full of events.

The World Championship Chili Cookoff runs all weekend and features some of the top chili chefs in the country, along with several live bands, according to organizers.

The University of Charleston is holding its homecoming this weekend, so is West Virginia State University. Both schools will be hosting parades, pep rallies and tailgating events before their football games on Saturday.

The Rod Run & Doo Wop is also happening along Kanawha Boulevard this weekend. Charleston's mayor said the forecast was the only concern he had. Danny Jones is hoping for good weather, although Stormtracker 13 Chief Meteorologist Spencer Adkins predicts that the temperatures will be cooler and there is rain in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday.
