Arrest made in Scioto County, OH burglaries

Scioto County Sheriff's Deputies have made an arrest in connection to several burglaries in the last two weeks in Porter, Clay, Vernon, Green, and Madison Townships.

An investigation led to the arrest of Matthew L. Dawson, 34, most recently of Wheelersburg, OH.

According to a press release from the Sheriff's Department, detectives found Dawson hiding in a hollowed-out mattress in a house they learned he was staying in on Cherry St. in Sciotoville.

Dawson was charged with four counts of Burglary, one count of Breaking & Entering, and one count of Grand Theft Auto and is being held on a $68,000 bond.

Sheriff Marty V. Donini states that more charges will be presented to the Scioto County Grand Jury at a later date.
