An area father says he is seeking justice after he and his daughter were hit in a horrific pedestrian accident almost two weeks ago.
Shawn Shamblen returned to the scene in St. Albans, after an early fall walk with his 6-year-old daughter Savannah turned tragic. Shamblen says he and his daughter were hospitalized. He tore muscles in his arm and says he was knocked out after the accident.
She had scrapes and lost two teeth.
"She's having nightmares... Doesn't want to sleep at night... Doesn't want to come anywhere near traffic," said Shamblen.
Shamblen says he has to see an orthopedic surgeon and that his daughter is waiting for her two teeth that were knocked out to grow back.
Neighbors say some drivers need to be more careful near Walnut and Washington Streets.
Shamblen also says there was still light out when that accident happened. Pedestrians have the right of way in crosswalks.
A police report indicates the driver did not yield. Shamblen wants the driver to be cited.
13 News reached out to the driver and had not heard anything back early Sunday night.
