The Charleston Fire Department is working to make sure kids know what to do if they are ever in a fire.

They've been going to elementary schools in the city to hand out coloring books, stickers, pencils and other supplies that educate young people about how to come up with a fire escape plan.

It is National Fire Prevention week. The main message between this year's event is that families need to plan two ways out in case there is ever a fire.
