People got together at Marshall University to learn about Japanese culture today.
Students from the University and Cabell County attended Japan Day in the Memorial Student Center Sunday afternoon.
The event is designed to bring students from both countries together to share their cultures.
Japanese students and faculty were honored by local high school students with gifts and prizes.
Cabell County students who had visited Japan, gave a presentation about their home town and their visit to the Asian nation.
People enjoyed a buffet of authentic food and drinks.
"Its a great way for them to have the opportunity to exchange cultures," said Dr. William Smith.
