Ride benefits slain troopers' families

Posted: Updated:

Many turned out Saturday afternoon to show their support for two troopers killed in the line of duty last month.

The memorial ride started at the Cabela's in South Charleston and ended at the Clay/Wallback Park and Ride.  That is where three law enforcement officers were shot. On that night in late August, during a routine traffic stop, Corporal Marshall Bailey lost his life, and Trooper Eric Workman was injured so severely, he later died in the hospital.

All proceeds will go to a college fund for Corporal Bailey's children and to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund on behalf of Trooper Eric Workman.
