ATHENS, OH -

President Barack Obama is expected to make a campaign stop in our region, just a day after the second Presidential Debate.

President Obama will speak in Athens, Ohio at Ohio University's College Green Wednesday, Oct. 17.He's expected to touch on issues including Stafford Loans and, of course, Tuesday's Presidential Debate.
But students say they're just excited to have a sitting President visit their campus.

"I think people are just excited and it's just really cool to go out on our College Green, the heart of campus, and see this giant stage being erected," said Ohio University student, Evan Ecos. "There's helicopters taking off and stuff and it's going to be a really awesome experience."

Gates open Wednesday at 3 p.m. and guests must have a ticket to attend.
This is the first time a sitting President has visited Ohio University since 1964, which was President Lyndon B. Johnson.
