Car chase leads to heroin bust in Scioto County, OH

Police have arrested a wanted man in Scioto County.

A warrant had been out for the arrest of Ralph E. Jones, 59, of Portsmouth, OH.

Jones fled when detectives spotted his truck and signaled him to pull over. He was eventually stopped and arrested.

Jones had been indicted on felony drug charges by a Scioto County Grand Jury in September of 2012 after a vehicle, Jones was operating was stopped and officers found over 50 grams of heroin, over $1,500 cash, a loaded .44 cal. revolver, digital scales, and additional drug trafficking evidence.

Jones was indicted on charges of trafficking in Heroin, a felony of the 1st degree, possession of
heroin, a felony of the 2nd degree, and possession of criminal tools, a felony of the 5th degree.

Jones is being held without bond until his arraignment.
