Hurricane Sandy has already affected the sports landscape here in West Virginia. The Marshall basketball team was scheduled to open their exhibition schedule Monday night with a game against Bluefield State. That game has been postponed until Thursday evening. The Herd are picked to finish near the top of CUSA, and that's a testament to Coach Herrion and his staff. They lost three big guns from last years team, but some good new talent has come in.

"How I look at it is we've got some new faces and more importantly we've got new opportunities for some guys." said Herrion, "When you have a team and a program you are able to insert, develop and plug new guys in and some guys are going to have increased roles that were in our program previously and some new faces and new guys are gonna step into some bigger roles."
