According to the Nicholas County Sheriff's Dept., multiple roofs in Nicholas County have collapsed from snow accumulation.

Roofs at the U-Save in Craigsville, the Foodland in Craigsville and the U-Save in Summersville have all collapsed.

Several residences have also had roof collapses and a building at the Collins Hardwood Plant suffered damage.

Summersville Manor on Kentucky Road also has damage to its roof and 72 people had to be evacuated.  Those residents are staying with family or at a church nearby.

The roofs collapsed in the overnight hours of Tuesday into Wednesday morning.  Snow totals are ranging from 1 to 2 1/2 feet of snow.

A manager who works at the Foodland says it appears the store will be a complete loss or that it will have to be rebuilt.

There is no word on the future of both of the U-Save stores.

Members of the National Guard have been called in to help.  As of 6 p.m. Wednesday, AEP reported more than 2,000 people in Nicholas County were still without power.

No injuries have been reported.
