A
Barbour County man who was running for public office died after being
struck in the head with a tree branch, according to the Barbour County
Sheriff's Department.
John Rose, a Republican candidate for the
House of Delegates, was checking the fence on his deer farm around 2
p.m. Tuesday and was trying to leave a field on his four-wheeler when a
tree branch fell off of a tree and struck him in the head.
The tree branch killed him instantly, according to Barbour County Sheriff John Hawkins.
