The Sissonville Volunteer Fire Department is ready to unveil the new Thomas K. Johnson Fire Station.
A fire in October 2010 damaged the station, according to Tom Miller, a fire instructor at the Sissonville Fire Department, in a press release.
"We could not have recovered from the October 1, 2010 fire without the help and support of our community," Miller said.
The grand opening will take place November 17. The station is located between Route 21 (Sissonville Drive) and Interstate 77. Its new name honors retired Chief Thomas K. Johnson.
