Extra deputies will patrol roads for rescheduled Halloween trick-or-treat

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department will have extra patrols on the roads for the rescheduled Halloween trick-or-treat.

These extra patrols will start at 5 p.m. on Thursday and run through the night.  

Halloween typically sees its fair share of vandalism. Deputies will be in both marked and unmarked cars to keep vandalism to a minimum.

The sheriff's department wants parents to use general safety tips during trick-or treat.

These tips include: visit trusted houses and familiar areas, use sidewalks in well lighted areas when possible, wear reflective clothing, carry a flashlight or other illuminating device, and inspect candy prior to eating it.
