Due to the storm, the Pinta and Nina are making an extended stay in Charleston.
The replica ships will be docked at Haddad Riverfront Park through Sunday, Nov. 4 and will depart Monday morning.
The two ships will then open in Huntington on Wednesday, Nov. 14.
The ships will be docked at the Huntington Yacht Club at Harris Riverfront Park, until their departure in the early morning on Tuesday, Nov. 20.
The Nina was built completely by hand and without the use of power tools. The Pinta was recently built in Brazil to accompany the Nina on her travels. She is a larger version of the archetypal caravel. Both ships tour together as a 'sailing museum' to educate the public.
While in port, the general public is invited to visit the ships for a walk-aboard, self-guided tour. Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $6 for students. Children 4 and under are free.
The ships will be open every day from 9 a.m. to 5p.m. No reservations are necessary.
Teachers or organizations wishing to reschedule or schedule a 30 minute guided tour with a crew member should call 1-787-672-2152 or email columfnd@surfbvi.com.
