The Greenup county Sheriff's department has released the name of the man accused of hitting a deputy with a truck.
Bradley A. Cordle, 32, of Flatwoods, was driving a Chevy pickup truck when deputies say he fled the scene after hitting deputy Ryan Houston during a traffic stop.
Reports say Cordle intentionally hit the deputy and was arrested following a chase by Greenup police where he hit a power pole on route 2.
Cordle has other warrants in Greenup county for being a persistent felony offender and fleeing from police.
He faces multiple felony and criminal charges from this incident.
Cordle is in the Greenup County Detention center.
A Greenup County, KY. Sheriff's deputy was hit by a truck late Thursday night.
Sheriff Keith Cooper says the deputy was making a traffic stop on a truck that had sped up behind him just after 11 p.m.
Cooper says Deputy Ryan Houston got out of his cruiser and the truck sped off, pinning him against the cruiser.
Houston was taken to a local hospital with injuries to his legs and knees.
Police chased the truck onto Route 2 where the driver lost control and crashed into a telephone pole.
Toxicology reports are pending, but Cooper says he believes the man has prior warrants for drunk driving.
This is the second deputy hit in two weeks.
The other deputy, Matthew Smith, was hit by a truck while working a collision in Greenup county.
He suffered leg and knee damage and will be off the job for a while.
The accident is under investigation.
