
West Virginia State's disappointing 2012 season continued on Saturday.
The Yellow Jackets fell to Fairmont State on the road, 48-28.
State scored first on a Ricky Philips 7-yard touchdown, but that lead didn't last.
The Fighting Falcons came back scoring 14 unanswered points to take a 14-7 lead.
State answered with another Philips touchdown to cut the lead to 14-13, but that was as close as the Yellow Jackets got.
Fairmont State pulled away in the second half for the 20-point lead.
West Virginia State will wrap up the 2012 regular season next week on the road at Charleston.
