The Ohio State Police in Portsmouth are investigating a fatal crash along State Rt. 73 near State Rt. 104 that happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
According to police, Michael Newman was traveling north along State Route 73 when he crossed the median and hit Pamela Johnson, who was traveling southbound, sending her vehicle into a ditch.
Casey Newman, a passenger in Michael Newman's vehicle, was ejected and transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Michael Newman and Pamela Johnson were both transported to Southern Ohio Medical center and then taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital.
