Blackwater Falls employees still without power and heat

Posted: Updated:

Blackwater Falls State Park employees still feel the affects of Hurricane Sandy.

Employees have been working for 12 days without power, heat, or hot water in the lodge.

"Anywhere from 30-50 inches of snow fell across the park as a result of the Oct. 29 storm depending upon where you measure," superintendent Rob Gilligan said in the release.

The park roads remain closed while employees continue to remove fallen trees.

"The destruction of power poles and lines from tree damage is extensive here at Blackwater Falls," Gilligan said.

The park expects to get power back on Saturday, Nov. 10.
