According to Det. Shawn Johnson with Putnam County Sheriff's Dept., the man pulled from the Kanawha River on Friday, Nov. 9 was Gregory Keith Tennant, 48, of St Albans.
Det. Johnson said police found nothing suspicious about the body but they still are unsure about cause of death, pending autopsy results. He added Pennant was homeless, and moved from shelter to shelter. Much of his family resides in Alabama.
The last time anybody had seen him was October 23. Police said his body could have been floating in the river for two to three weeks.

A couple of fishermen found a body in Putnam County Friday afternoon.
They made the discovery near the Raymond City Boat Ramp in the Kanawha River, near Poca. After the two men spotted the body, they called 911.
Putnam County deputies, members of the Saint Albans Fire Department and Bancroft Fire Department responded to the scene.
The Putnam County Sheriff's department hasn't released any information about the body, nor said how it ended up in the river.
