WHEELING, WV -

Ohio Valley Medical Center's Center for Breast Care is gaining national attention.

The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) designated the center as an accredited breast center which makes it the only hospital in the Northern Panhandle and one in four in the state with this designation.

Dr. Robert Cross, surgeon chair of the OVMC Breast Care Committee said the accreditation exemplifies the hospital's commitment to its patients.

"Being nationally accredited for OVMC's Center for Breast Care demonstrates our firm commitment to offer our patients every significant advantage in their battle against breast disease," said Cross. "We continue to demonstrate that patients will receive quality breast care close to home."

According to hospital officials, those who receive treatment at OVMC's Center for Breast Care will have access to comprehensive care, a multidisciplinary team approach to coordinate the best treatment options, and information about ongoing clinical trials and new treatment options.
