No one should be upset because no one picked the correct numbers to win the large Powerball jackpot last night. It didn't stop people from walking up to the lottery outlets to buy a chance at a multi-million

Members of the West Virginia Legislature are taking the Veterans Day holiday to remind veterans and current military members from all eras, ages and service to complete the 2012 West Virginia Military Survey.
More than 8,000 postcard invitations to participate in the survey were mailed to residents in late September. The survey can be filled out at wvmilitarysurvey.com or by calling 1-855-299-6605. Responses are confidential, and the information will not be published nor released in any form that would reveal the identity of an individual participant. Survey participants also will be entered into a drawing for more than 30 gift cards.
The survey is the state's main source of comprehensive information about work, education, family, retirement, health and access to benefits. Results to the survey may help to improve services and resources for veterans and their families.
Lawmakers who sponsored the survey include Delegate Barbara Evans Fleischauer, D-Monongalia, Delegate Richard Iaquinta, D-Harrison, and Sen. Erik Wells, D-Kanawha. Hilda Heady of Atlas Research is managing the survey project for the Legislature, along with Joseph Scotti and Roy Tunick of West Virginia University, all of whom conducted a similar survey in 2008.
