Parkersburg police search for bank robbery suspect

Parkersburg police are searching for a bank robbery suspect and want the public's help to find him.

A man walked into the Community Bank on Emerson Avenue on Tuesday, Nov. 13, according to a news release from the Parkersburg Police Department.

The man had a hood over his head and dark glasses covering his eyes according to the same news release. The suspect allegedly asked for cash and told bank employees that he had a gun, but teller never saw a firearm. Police said that the suspect then got the money and took off.

Police are conducting interviews and reviewing surveillance video from the bank and surrounding area.

They are also reviewing recent robberies or attempted robberies to determine if the suspect may have been involved in the other crimes.

The suspect is described as a white man, 5'8" to 5'10", weighing 220-250lbs. He appeared to be in his 50s or 60s or maybe older according to police. He may have been wearing a blue hoodie with a gray liner, a blue coat with gray accents over the hoodie, white shoes and blue jeans.
