Accident reconstructionists with the Kentucky State Police are investigating a pedestrian hit that happened on US 23 North near Coal Run in Pike County, KY Thursday.
Police say Juan Ortiz, 43, of Frederick County, Maryland, was crossing northbound US 23 to go back to his United Trucks vehicle when he was hit by a car operated by Jamie Young, of Virgie, KY.
Ortiz was taken to Pikeville Medical Center for his injuries. He died at the hospital on Monday.
