Tri-State Transit Authority starts Food-For-Fares drive

Posted: Updated:

Once again, the Tri-State Transit Authority in Huntington will collect food for a worthy cause, plus help give riders a break.

According to a press release, the TTA is kicking off their annual Food-For-Fares drive on Saturday, Nov. 17. Bus drivers will be accepting canned food instead of cash, passes, or value cards.

The TTA holds this event every year and always the Saturday before the week of Thanksgiving. Food donated goes to the Salvation Army. The TTA is also encouraging those who don't ride the bus to drop off food at their Transit Center at 4th Avenue and 13th Street in Huntington.
