Thousands attended the annual Marshall University plane crash memorial ceremony at noon Wednesday.
The day marks the 42nd anniversary of the crash that took the lives of the entire football team and many others in 1970.
75 people died in that crash.
Today they were honored with guest speakers and music from the Marshall choir.
Coach Doc Holliday helped lay the wreath at the fountain which was turned off until next year.
Students say its a way of remembering how close they are.
