Group meets to discuss the environment in Charleston

Posted: Updated:

Being more conscious about the environment was the message at a event in Charleston Wednesday evening by the group "WV350 Reversing Climate Change".

They called the event a "Planet Protecting Potluck".

There were displays on renewable resources, energy efficiency, and climate change.

The group told 13NEWS it's undeniable that humans are having a "terrible impact" on our environment.

One organizer, Robin Wilson, said, "We need policy that gives incentives for reducing carbon dioxide.  That's going to involve some transitions.  The other one is personal choices and community choices.  Communities can lower their carbon footprint.

The group says Hurricane Sandy is a perfect example of the changing climate.
