Charleston Mayor Danny Jones found a disturbing package at the end of his driveway Friday morning.
He said there was a red package with a note addressed to him.
Inside of the package was a dead pigeon that had been shot and had its eyes removed.
Jones said he is not personally worried but police are not taking this lightly.
Police are waiting on lab results to see if there is any DNA they can recover from the package.
Jones said his only concern is his family.
"The only thing I ever worry about at my house is my two little children. I just keep them close and hope that this individual never graces the light of my property again."
Call Charleston Police at 304-348-6480 if you have any information.
