Charleston police investigating shooting

UPDATE: Charleston Police dispatchers have confirmed that the man who was shot during the alledged attempted break in was Darin Lanning. He was shot in the shoulder and taken the CAMC General hospital to be treated. He was later arrested.

Charleston Police are were called to the scene of a shooting at the 1600 block of Seventh Avenue around 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 17.

According to dispatchers, one person was shot by the home owner while trying to break into the home.

The victim was transported to a local hospital.  The extent of those injures are not yet known. Charleston Police Dept. is investigating
