Bordas & Bordas law firm has donated $75,000 to West Liberty University.

The school will use the money to purchase two new high-definition video cameras for the broadcast journalism program. Jamie Bordas, managing partner of the firm, will provide a weekly 30-minute talk show, "Bordas & Bordas Legal Review," which will focus on timely legal issues.

Jason Koegler, WLU vice president of institutional advancement said the gift will enhance student learning.

"We are grateful to Jamie Bordas and appreciate his willingness to support higher education at West Liberty University," Koegler said. "This money will greatly enhance our journalism and communications department and give our students an edge as they prepare for their professional careers. The students are very excited to work with the new technology this gift is funding."

The firm, with offices in both St. Clairsville, Ohio, and Wheeling, places significant emphasis on community philanthropy and Bordas said he is excited the firm can partner with the school.

"We are excited to partner with West Liberty University and to help students develop their skills in broadcasting," Bordas said. "Bordas & Bordas knows the value of college and the expense involved in providing students with up to date programs and technology."

Currently, 125 students and 26 crew members are active in the WLU broadcasting program which develop and produce the Bordas show and 11 additional programs weekly that are seen on Comcast Cable channel 14.
