West Virginia Wildlife Center in French Creek partially reopens

Posted: Updated:

The West Virginia Wildlife Center in French Creek has partially reopened following storm damage recovery, but is operating at reduced capacity, according to a press release from the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources.

The aftermath of Hurricane Sandy dumped more than two feet of snow in French Creek.

Staff members have removed the downed trees and limbs that were blocking the road and loop trail.

People are allowed to walk to look trail for now.

Once the reconstruction starts, people will not be allowed to access the loops.

There will also be no tours until reconstruction is completed.

Both the parking lot and road to the picnic area will remain open for walkers.
