There have been three home invasions in Huntington in less than a week. The most recent one happened late Sunday night into Monday morning on the city's east end.
Huntington detectives said it appears this latest home invasion follows a similar style to the others that have happened on the same side of town. "The way they come in. They break a door down. They come in very quickly in and out, quick. They are only there just a few minutes. They are coming in with handguns making the people inside lay down on the floor and then they do a quick robbery and get out," said Det. Rob Stinnett with the Huntington Police Department.
In the latest home invasion on 24th Street on Nov. 19, the suspects also took the victims' cell phones.
Police have not confirmed if the victims are random or planned. In the meantime, they advise residents to exercise basic caution, lock their doors and make sure the outside of their homes are well lit.
Detectives said they've received several valuable tips. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Huntington Police Department at 304-696-4444. Information can also be shared anonymously online at www.hpdwv.com.
