A $500 fine and up to a year in jail, that's the penalty that 14-year-old Jared Marcum, who was arrested after refusing to change his NRA shirt, could face, now that a judge has allowed the prosecution to move forward with it's obstructing an officer charge against him.
The Office of Miners Health, Safety and Training is investigating a non-fatal mining accident that occurred at about 8:18 this morning at the Speed Mining underground coal mine owned by Patriot Coal in Cabin Creek, eastern Kanawha County.
Harold Miller, of Danville, was pinned between a scoop and the wall of the mine. Rescue crews removed him safely within the hour and brought him to the surface with what appears to be a non-life-threatening leg injury.
We have a crew on the way, keep checking back for more information.
