The people of this state spoke loud and clear on Nov. 6. Clearly, the state school board did not learn this lesson.
The way they fired School Superintendent Jorea Marple was West Virginia politics at its worst. If they don't like the job she's doing, fine – get it out in the open, make their case and then proceed.
Education in this state must be a priority and a change of leadership is part of us reaching our potential, but we sacrifice too much when party politics and backroom deals trump open and honest government.
