CHARLESTON, West Virginia -
Extended Black Friday hours at the Town Center Mall means another destination for die-hard bargain hunters.
This year, all of the shops will open starting at midnight on Black Friday. In years past, as many as 34 retailers were open.
It's in a response to higher than expected retail sales and foot traffic the mall has seen this year.
"We see an uptick over last years' holiday season," said Town Center Marketing Director Lisa McCracken.
Black Friday, however, is not the projected busiest shopping day for the mall. This year, that honor goes to December 22nd, the last Saturday before Christmas.
"It traditionally used to be Black Friday, but when retailers started to lower their prices and consumers realized they could get more for their dollar on that final Saturday, we really started to see more traffic on that final Saturday," said McCracken.
The mall remains under renovation. The renovations are expected to be completed on December 4.
