Rescue efforts have pulled a second person from the Elk River near Clendenin. A 19-year-old man was found around 3:00 p.m. by rescuers and appears to be in good condition.

The Nitro Fire Department put out flames coming from a house Thursday morning.
Dispatchers said a call came in shortly before 6:30 a.m. that there was smoke coming from a house on Main Avenue in Nitro.
Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control around 7 a.m.
Dispatchers said no one was injured in the fire.
The Nitro Police Department also responded to the scene.
