HUNTINGTON — Valley Health Systems Inc. is now welcoming patients at its newest facility, an $8.7 million health care center on U.S. 60 in East Huntington.

Located at 3377 U.S. Route 60, adjacent to Prestera Center, the 24,000-square-foot center offers patients a broad range of medical services and also houses Valley Health's administrative offices, formerly at 2585 Third Ave. in Huntington.

Originally established with three medical centers in 1976, Valley Health today operates a network of 33 healthcare centers and public health programs in southwestern West Virginia and southern Ohio. It serves nearly 70,000 patients on an annual basis with core services that include family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, dentistry, gastroenterology and psychiatry.

"Valley Health is in the business of quality healthcare," said Steve Shattls, the system's executive director and CEO. "Furthermore, we're in the business of ensuring that quality, affordable healthcare is accessible to everyone. We take tremendous pride in our physicians' and providers' talent and the dedication they show our patients every day."

In the planning stages for three years and under construction since August of last year, Valley Health's new East Huntington facility brings a number of medical specialties together under one roof, including ultrasound services and a pharmacy.
