UPDATE Car wreck in Sissonville claims life of a Boone County woman

UPDATE Captain Sean Crosier tells 13 News that the driver of the Suzuki Coupe that crashed on interstate 77 Sunday has died.

Angela Sharps age, 24, of Julian in Boone County, died as a result from the injuries she sustained in the crash.

Kanawha County Emergency Medics attempted to resuscitate Sharps, but were unsuccessful.


UPDATE The scene has been cleared and the road re-opened.

The driver is female. Her name and medical condition have not been released.

ORIGINAL A car traveling on I-77, near the 108 mile marker in Sissonville, lost control and ended up in the median. 

The driver was ejected from the vehicle and has been transported to CAMC with life-threatening injuries.  

Speed and reckless driving are factors in this accident. Police say that a BOLO, be-on-the-look-out, was in effect for the driver prior to the crash.  

The Northbound and Southbound fast lanes have been shut down until crews have cleared the scene of the accident.
