Cato's 2012 Stats Rank Among the Best in Marshall History

It you could describe one word that summarized the 2012 Marshall football season it would be: Inconsistent.

Marshall never put together a winning streak this season and ended the year with a 5-7 record.

But the future still looks bright for the Green and White, especially for quarterback Rakeem Cato.

The sophomore had a breakout year and finished the year ranked first in the nation with 4,201 passing yards.

Cato's also ranked first in attempts (584), completions (404), and tied for 2nd in the nation with West Virginia's Geno Smith with 37 touchdown passes.
