ArtsLink will offer a free presentation of "Through the Eye of the Needle, the Art of Esther Nisenthal Krinitz" at 6:30 p.m. May 13 at the Francis Creative Arts Center, located at the corner of Maple Avenue and Washington Street in New Martinsville. Light refreshments will be served.
Bethany
College will host its second Light Up Night at 7 p.m. Nov. 29 in
Commencement Hall. The celebration will include the lighting of the college's
tree by President Scott D. Miller and a variety of presentations on holiday
themes, as well as a charity tree auction.
The evening will begin
with a welcome by Miller and will be followed by educational presentations on
some of the major holidays of the season, including Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa and more.
Holiday-themed trees
will be auctioned off throughout the evening with all proceeds to benefit local
charities. This year, a selection of children's trees will be raffled off for
children 12 and under. In addition, there will an area for children to write
letters to Santa, and children can have their photos taken with Santa Claus.
There will also be a choir performance by the Community Christian Church of
Beech Bottom.
The event is open to the
