CLENDENIN, W.Va. (AP) - Authorities are investigating a series of suspicious fires at a junkyard in Clendenin.

Clendenin Volunteer Fire Department chief Kevin Clendenin tells media outlets that seven fires have occurred at Rucker Salvage since June.

The latest fire occurred Saturday. Clendenin says six passenger vehicles, two camping trailers, a storage trailer and a piece of heavy equipment were burning when firefighters arrived.

He says all the fires are suspicious.

Owner Paul Rucker says he was planning to quit the salvage business. Now, he's being burned out before he can remove the junk.
