A Putnam County Family Court judge famous for his screaming rants could be forced to take a temporary break from the bench.
The Special Judicial Disciplinary Counsel recommended that Judge William Watkins be suspended without pay for 90 days if he doesn't live up to the state Supreme Court's recommendations.
The body also recommended that Watkins take part in counseling and anger management courses, address office problems, and take six hours of judicial training for domestic violence, and recommended a $17,759 fine.
The hearing was in front of the state Judicial Hearing Board. These recommendations will go to the state Supreme Court to either approve, deny, or tweak the recommendations.
