Have you ever wanted to make a short movie? Students in Kanawha County got the chance to try on Wednesday.
It was part of West Virginia State University's "Student Film and Video Festival" which took place at the Davis Fine Arts Theater on campus.
The event included the premiere of 20 short films by WVSU students and local high school students. "It's very rewarding, the classes here are very structured. They help you learn how to use the equipment, software, things like that. We have instructors that are very skilled in the skill set in the art of filmmaking," said Brooke Lewis, a WVSU student.
Winning films received a plaque and prize money for the high school and undergraduate entries. Graduate student films did not receive prizes.
