Authorities are warning college students to be cautious after a gunman robbed a student at Florida Atlantic University's campus in Boca Raton.
University officials said the man placed a small handgun to the victim's head Thursday afternoon, stole the student's possession and ran off.
FAU spokesman Christopher Stotz said the alleged robbery occurred in the Arts and Letters building.
The Palm Beach Post is reporting that Palm Beach State College's Boca Raton campus was placed on lockdown after the suspect fled to that campus. The two schools border each other.
Authorities are checking vehicles before they leave campus.
All campus entrances are closed. Cars are only being allowed to use certain exits.
