A $500 fine and up to a year in jail, that's the penalty that 14-year-old Jared Marcum, who was arrested after refusing to change his NRA shirt, could face, now that a judge has allowed the prosecution to move forward with it's obstructing an officer charge against him.
People in St. Albans were upset after they say trees that were about a hundred years old were cut down.
Demolition took place on Friday. The trees are at the Crawford Football Field just off Route 60.
It was believed the trees were diseased, so Kanawha County School Board officials voted to have them cut down.
"There's a whole lot of history and tradition," said Patrick O'Reilly.
Kanawha County School Board President Pete Thaw told 13 News on the phone Friday that they are obeying a court order to take down the trees as they were again declared unsafe. He also says the board would not want to be liable if anyone was hurt.
