A $500 fine and up to a year in jail, that's the penalty that 14-year-old Jared Marcum, who was arrested after refusing to change his NRA shirt, could face, now that a judge has allowed the prosecution to move forward with it's obstructing an officer charge against him.
Any parent knows how tough it can be to get a night out without the kids, so Marshall University Recreation Center gave parents just that Friday night with their first ever Kids Night Out.
It gives parents a chance to shop, dine or just relax and gives the rec staff an excuse to play and show off the center.
Dan Belcher, with the MU Rec Center says, "It's just a chance for kids who haven't been to the Rec Center, or kids who come to our summer camp program, it's just to continue our youth program, and the programs that we offer."
About thirty kids attended Friday and plans are all ready under way for another kids night out in January.
