James David Marcum, who was reported missing yesterday, was found dead in the Sarah Ann area along Route 44 in Logan County.
His body was discovered around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, according to West Virginia State Police.
Troopers said he had been electrocuted.
Marcum had been missing for a few days when his family filed the missing person report.
Troopers suspect that Marcum could have been attempting to steal copper wire at the time of his death. Cutting tools were found in the same general area as his body.
Investigators are still trying to determine if Marcum was alone at the time of his death.
